Catherine Dawn Fairbairn is the eldest of three children, born to Cathy and Ray Fairbairn, and was raised in the 1970s. Her mother, an extremely talented artist, and her father, a nature preserver and a bird rehabilitator, set the stage for a life rich in human spirit, integrity, and a never-ending sense of wonder.
From an early age, Dawn wandered for treasures on the family farm, collecting rocks, antiques, and anything that sparkled. This carried on through her life, with the love of semi-precious stones, crystals - especially Swarovski, antiques, and anything eclectic or unusual.
In 2001, after completing the required hours of theoretical and empirical study in meditation, Dawn, and her classmates, trekked in the Chaing Mai mountains of Thailand with their Meditation Master, Phra Ratchadham Jetiyajarn, and received a Diploma from the Willpower Institute. This was the catalyst that started Dawn on her inner journey to explore her creative potential. In 2005, Dawn studied at Sir Sandford Fleming College in Jewellery Arts and has since been defining her skills and finding her niche.
Today, Dawn enjoys creating jewellery with meaning. Each piece is exclusive and created with a theme, concept, or a story. Many pieces are made with semi-precious stones, Swarovski crystals, various vintage components, hand-crafted Thai silver charms, lampwork beads, Bali silver, and other eclectic finds. Each piece is created with great care, with you in mind, and the aspiration that it will go to its rightful owner. |
